saas product: Industry safe
When a workplace experiences an incident resulting in the injury or illness of a worker, OSHA mandates that an incident investigation report must be conducted. IndustrySafe’s flagship Enterprise software enables organizations to effectively manage their EHS program to improve workplace safety, meeting OSHA compliance, and performance.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The original web application had numerous usability issues. Central among them, users had to manually input information into several fields with no predefined options.

phase 1: Business analyst activities
I met with internal stakeholders to develop a spreadsheet of features to transfer from desktop to mobile. This helped to design the building of high-fidelity wireframes.
phase 2: Business analyst activities
As the business analyst on the project, I created a full set of user flows and wrote functional specs that served design, development, and UAT to document where and when services would be called.
phase 3: Design work: mobile first
The mobile incident recording module was the first chosen for IndustrySafe to release. Accepted usability patterns were used in the mobile incident recording apps, making it easy to take and link photos, pinpoint an exact GPS location, and allow the quick capture of invaluable data.
style guide development
I started to develop a design system for IndustrySafe based on the Atomic Design methodology
phase 4: desktop redesign
Working with the business and technical teams, we iterated to improve upon the product to include the following: predictive search, elimination of unnecessary clicks, and auto-detect information.
I designed a more effective way for end users to complete long forms by breaking them by section into individual modal windows. Included also is a refined method for end users to search for and display additional details adding in their precise selection.
