THE WHYS
Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) is a system of software and hardware elements that allows industrial organizations to manage complex business operations in real-time. The basic SCADA architecture begins with remote terminal units that communicate with HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) and routes information with SCADA software. Viridity Energy uses this service to remotely control hardware at remote locations, monitor, gather, and process real-time data, directly interact with devices, and record events in a log file.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Viridity Energy was in search of a replacement for their current SCADA system. Induction Automation's solution, Ignition, met the requirements of the team and organization. I was asked by the project manager to design prototypes that would meet the demands of the Operations team and act as a design proof of concept. As the point of contact, I was the one and only individual working with the application. Our focus was on the Ignition Perspective module, which provides for responsive design solutions.

Working in Ignition Perspective, I developed user-accessible screens for NOC operators and engineers showing my capabilities to design systems with key data that is credible, accessible and available across several disparate teams.
